Spanish Heritage Language education is an emerging field.  There exists little research dealing with training instructors of heritage languages (UCLLLT, 2002, p. 5), and there is no established theoretical or pedagogical base for the teaching of heritage languages. The purpose of this mixed methods study is to improve the K-12 educational experience of Spanish Heritage Language Learners.   Investigators propose to enact an improved educational experience via  a collaborative process that involves: 1) Spanish teachers’ collective brainstorming and development of classroom interventions  and 2) classroom-level testing of interventions.
