Schoenrock and Moser honored by ACTE

21 Jul 2017

Two CEHS faculty members have been recognized by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) for their excellence in preparing future teachers. Sheree Moser, assistant professor of practice in Child, Youth and Family Studies, is ACTE’s Region V Postsecondary Teacher of the Year. Mona Schoenrock, lecturer in Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, is ACTE’s Nebraska Teacher Educator of the Year.

Schoenrock teaches business, marketing and information technology. ACTE selected her for the award because “she has made significant changes to the program to strengthen the connection between career and technical education programs of study and the core content along with college and career readiness.” Schoenrock is a former teacher at Columbus High School where she was named national Secondary Teacher of the Year by the National Business Education Association in 2008.

Moser teaches in the family and consumer sciences major and is active in the ACTE community. She has served as the president-elect, president and past president of the Nebraska Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the Family and Consumer Sciences Teachers of Nebraska. Last year, Moser was named ACTE-Nebraska Postsecondary Teacher of the Year. Also last year, Moser earned the Distinguished Service Award from the Nebraska Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
