What would you like to see in the new Mabel Lee?

07 Mar 2018

All CEHS students, faculty, staff, alumni and others are invited to attend one of two learning and feedback sessions this Thursday, March 8 regarding the construction of a new Mabel Lee Hall. The college would like  input to help design a building that will serve students, faculty, staff and stakeholders well into the 21st century.

The first session is from 1-3 p.m. and will feature cookies and refreshments. The second session is from 4-6 p.m. and will offer pizza. Both sessions will be held in the Henzlik Hall Hub. Several stations will show different aspects of the Mabel Lee project with opportunities to ask questions and provide input. The forums will be open house style, so people can drop in as time allows. Architects will be present to answer questions.

For those who can’t make it March 8, boards will remain up in the Hub until March 15, to leave comments, thoughts and suggestions. The college has received a commitment from the state legislature to fund construction of a new building that will house the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies, the Department of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, the CEHS Dean’s Offices, the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools, other CEHS programs, classrooms and student gathering spaces. The existing Mabel Lee Hall will be razed and the new facility will be built on the same site.
