Dr. Edward Harris Secures NIH R01 Award

Dr. Edward Harris, NPOD seed grant recipient and associate professor
in UNL’s Department of Biochemistry has secured an NIH R01 award ($1.457 million)
for his research in synthetic heparin metabolism.

Orlando shooting prompts student affairs reflection

In the wake of the Orlando nightclub shooting last month, student affairs professionals are dialoguing and asking questions about how to better equip themselves and their students to respond to and confront violence and inequity. Stephanie Bondi, assistant professor of practice in Educational Administration, was a guest last week on Student Affairs Live, a weekly online learning community for student affairs educators.

The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders will host a farewell reception for Malinda Eccarius, Julie Honaker and Deanne Splattstoesser July 15.

The reception is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. in room 130 at the Barkley Memorial Center. A short program will be held at 3:30.
