Brief Biography

Courtney is originally from Norfolk, Nebraska and a proud
alum of UNL, graduating with her degree in Secondary Education - Spanish in
2009. She taught high school Spanish at East Butler High School for 10 years
and earned a Master's in Education from Concordia in Seward before
transitioning into higher ed. She worked in the Office of Admissions at UNL
as a recruitment specialist in the Iowa territory, then moved into the role
of Assistant Director for Transfer, Military, and Non-traditional
Recruitment. During her time in Admissions, she began her Ed.D. program here
at UNL. She is currently serving as the Project Specialist for the Project
Raíces grant housed in the Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education
department at UNL.


Research Interests

Courtney's research interests include the recruitment of
future teachers, teacher preparation programs, world languages, supporting
culturally and linguistically diverse learners, and critical scholarship.
