Intimately explore how embellishment contributed to 20th century design, fashion, and culture

Making an Entrance: Magnifying the Details of 20th Century Dress , showcases a selection of historic garments from UNL's Historic Costume Collection that feature unique embellishments. Garments are arranged according to principles and elements of design and are accompanied by magnified images of the embellishment, challenging viewers to think in terms of design rather than history. This exhibition highlights how the same embellishment techniques were used across the 20th century to produce vastly different designs that reflect the social world in which they originated.
