A Family History Reclaimed

TCD graduate student Jennifer Graham's Option II thesis exhibition, Grandma's Talking to Ghosts - A Family History Reclaimed, opened on Sunday, November 30 in the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery, and runs through December 19. Gallery hours are Monday though Friday, 8:30 - 4 p.m.

TCD Students Participate in Cedars Home for Children Fundraiser

TCD Freshman Kate Andreasen with her prize-winning handbag titled Louise

For the fourth consecutive year the organizers of the annual Power of the Purse fundraiser for Cedars Home for Children Foundation invited TCD students to submit originally designed purses for their benefit auction. This year's submissions were from TCD freshman Kate Andreasen and senior Abby Gross. The gala auction event took place at the Bryan Medical Plaza Conference Center on November 13.

Message from Alabama Chanin: Love Your Thread

Designer and Alabama Chanin founder Natalie Chanin joined TCD faculty, staff and students Wednesday evening October 15 as the featured speaker for the annual TCD Convocation, held this year in the Nebraska Union. Chanin, of Florence, Alabama, shared an inspiring and sometimes poignant story of her evolution as both a designer and entrepreneur. Committed to moving the textile and apparel industry in the direction of increased sustainability, Chanin has created a successful design/build model for a community-focused artisanal business.

Designer Natalie Chanin to Visit TCD for Annual Convocation

Designer Natalie Chanin will be in the department on October 15 and 16, and will be the featured speaker at the annual TCD Convocation, taking place from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday October 15 in Nebraska Union on UNL's city campus. Chanin's appearance is funded in part by a grant from the UNL Faculty Senate's Convocations Committee.
