What was your favorite part about your time at UNL?

Playing French Horn in the university band.

What career did you pursue after you graduated?

I was a high school English teacher.

What kind of impact did UNL have on your career? OR How did you use the start UNL gave you?

My education major enabled me to begin a teaching career in South San Francisco, California. I continued my education at San Francisco State University where I received a Calif. Secondary Credential and a Master's Degree in teaching. I taught for eight years in SSF, took a break to raise a family, and went back to teaching at a local high school in San Mateo, CA for five more years.

What is one piece of advice you would like to give to current and upcoming students?

If you would like a career that is creative, challenging, and rewarding choose teaching.
