CEHS celebrates students, faculty, staff at awards celebration

The College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln recognized the outstanding achievements of faculty, staff and students during its annual awards celebration on April 28.

“It’s a wonderful day to celebrate our award recipients, and the incredible work they are doing to support individuals, families, schools and communities,” said Sherri Jones, dean of the college.

All CEHS faculty and staff were invited to the celebration, held in the Great Plains Room of the Nebraska East Union

2023 CEHS Award Recipients: 

Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award

  • Uma Ganesan, graduate student, Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education 

Graduate Student Research and Creative Activity Award

  • Zhenqiao Yang, graduate student, Child, Youth and Family Studies

Annual Staff Award

  • Jill England, graduate coordinator, Special Education and Communication Disorders
  • Ben Heinisch, operations and project specialist, Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education 

Emerging Scholar Research and Creative Activity Award

  • Crystal Garcia, assistant professor, Educational Administration

Distinguished Research and Creative Activity Career Award

  • Theresa Catalano, professor, Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education 

Outstanding Teaching Award

  • Scott Napolitano, associate professor of practice, Educational Psychology
  • Anne Thomas, assistant professor of practice, Special Education and Communication Disorders
