Congratulations to Tovah Wolf!

Tovah Wolf, master’s student in the lab of Dr. Janos Zempleni, UNL Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences, was selected as a finalist to participate in a new award competition being held at American Society for Nutrition’s Scientific Sessions at the Experimental Biology Conference 2015 in Boston March 28 to April 1.

ASN’s Emerging Leaders in Nutrition Science Poster Competition was created to highlight the very best research submitted by students and young investigators to ASN’s Scientific Sessions.

Each of ASN’s 15 Research Interest Sections as well as the Global Nutrition Council and the Medical Nutrition Council selected finalists to participate in this competition.  Wolf was chosen to participate in the competition sponsored by the Dietary Bioactive Components RIS.  She present a poster for her abstract entitled, “Transport of MicroRNA-Containing, Milk-Borne Extracellular Vesicles by Human Colon Carcinoma Caco-2 Cells.”

All finalists received special recognition in ASN meeting materials as well as a press release promoting this honor.  Poster presentations were judged and grand prize winners were chosen by each RIS and Council.   Grand prize winners received a certificate and travel award.
