Current projects include:

1. An examination of engineering undergraduate students' experiences of mental health and equity using a mixed-methods design, in collaboration with engineering education faculty, Dr. Jessica Deters and students

2. An exploration of the relationship(s) between classism, heterosexism, and psychological outcomes among sexual minority adults in the U.S.

We would like to invite you to participate in a survey to better understand UNL engineering students’ experiences around equity and mental health!

To be eligible, you must be:

a)     an UNL undergraduate student in engineering

b)     19 years and older

If you identify with ONE or MORE of the following descriptions, you are particularly encouraged to participate:

  • first-generation college student
  • student who is low-income
  • student of color
  • student who is lesbian, gay, bisexual or queer
  • student who is a woman, is trans or nonbinary

We are an interdisciplinary team of UNL engineering education and counseling psychology researchers, who are interested in understanding your experiences as an engineering undergraduate student. We hope this project can improve engineering students’ overall experiences and retention at UNL.

Your participation will take about 15-25 minutes in total. You will first be directed to a brief screening survey, which will take less than 3 minutes to complete. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be directed to an online form with informed consent information the main survey. The first 500 participants to complete the survey will be compensated with a $10 Visa e-gift card!
