We are interested in inviting students to join our lab who are interested in contributing to the aims outlined on our welcome page. There are opportunities for lab members to collaborate on projects led by Dr. Abbott, as well as to develop and execute their own studies congruent with our aims. Employing a feminist, relational-cultural mentorship style, Dr. Abbott hopes to help you curate a training expereince that prepares you to be a license-eligible counseling psychologist and allows you to build skills and develop expertise in the topics of your interest. Importantly, the lab community hopes to support students in ways that help sustain them through graduate training.

If you’re interested in working in our lab, be sure to indicate that interest in the personal statement portion of your application materials. It is also helpful to hear about how you imagine our program and lab can prepare you to meet the goals you have for your professional life. The faculty typically review your application in December, invite students to interview in January, and provide admissions decisions beginning in February.

Dr. Abbott is accepting applications for admission in Fall 2024.
