Meet a Husker: Paige Lindau

22 Apr 2024

Meet Paige Lindau, a junior from Hildreth, Nebraska, who is majoring in elementary education.

Why did you choose the University of Nebraska-Lincoln?

I am a Nebraska girl at heart and have wanted to come to UNL for my whole life! My dad came here and had the best experience and I just love the atmosphere in Lincoln. Coming to UNL was the best decision I’ve ever made and I wouldn’t have it any other way- GBR!

What activities and organizations are you involved in on campus?

I am a member of the Teacher Scholars Academy's 3rd Cohort, as well as a member of Delta Gamma sorority.

What has been your favorite class so far and why?

My favorite class is one I am in currently – Teaching Reading and Language Arts with Guy Trainin! It is a 3-hour class but it goes by so fast because of how engaging his lessons are, plus we get to scrapbook our notes which is so fun! Phonics is also my favorite thing to teach so I have loved learning more about strategies surrounding that.

What are your career goals?

I am not sure what grade I want to teach yet, but have loved my experiences in my K, 2nd, and 4th grade practicums so I am thinking I will be happy with whatever! I would love to get a job somewhere in rural Nebraska – probably closer to my hometown area! I hope to work on getting my Master's degree within my first few years of teaching.
