The Department's Extension programs and other outreach educate constituents in Lincoln and across the state as well as national and international audiences. Outreach programs empower individuals, families, and communities to resolve social concerns.
Extension faculty serve their constituents by identifying the issues and needs of Nebraskans in the global environment. This ever-changing environment presents many challenges which are addressed through multi-disciplinary approaches.
The Department's Extension Programs:
Translate and disseminate the results of research into application-based education for Nebraska citizens, including adult and youth educational programs, community groups and policy makers.
Develop strategic alliances with other agencies, groups and institutions to create educational programs and public policy that resolve issues facing state and national audiences.
Develop competitive grant proposals to fund Extension programming.
