As the coach at Ruth Staples Child Development Lab, I work with student teachers to help grow their skills as early childhood professionals.  Through direct modeling, observation and one on one sessions, I get to help guide teachers to achieve their maximum potential and an educator of young children.  I believe children learn through the context of strong relationships and real life experiences.  I help guide students to plan, implement and document these experiences to make learning visible for children and families.  I have a passion for connecting our youngest learners to nature and providing experiences that inspire curiosity and wonder.  My work is influenced by Reggio Emilia, and forest preschools.  I have had the privilege of visiting the forest preschools in Scotland.

I enjoy spending time with my wonderfully talented husband, David. We added our beautiful, spunky daughter, Gretta, to our family in 2013. In our spare time we love spending time with friends and family and cheering on the Detroit Tigers.
