Program Demographics
Operating from a truly systemic framework, the MFT program at UNL emphasizes the need to be knowledgeable of those cultures which may not be represented by the student and/or faculty bodies, and how these cultures need to be incorporated into academia, practice, and research.
Students
Our current student body consists of 24 graduate students. Seventy-nine percent identify as women, 13% identify as men, and 8% identify as non-binary. Forty-six percent are from to Nebraska; 42% are from states other than Nebraska; and 12% are from a nation other than the United States. Seventy-six percent of students identify as being of European American descent, 8% identify as Black/African American, 8% identify as Latino, 4% identify as Native American, and 4% identify as Middle Eastern. Seventeen percent of our students speak multiple languages. Twenty-one percent have international experience related to academia, research, or clinical practice.
Faculty
Of the four core MFT faculty, 25% are non-binary, 50% are women, and 25% are men. Twenty-five percent identify as being Latino and 75% identify as being of European American decent. The majority have international experience in academia, research, curriculum development, and/or clinical practice.
Supervisors
There are four on-site supervisors. Seventy-five percent of them are AAMFT approved supervisors.
