The Pediatric/Clinical Child Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital is pleased to invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position in Obsessive-Compulsive & Anxiety Disorders. The Texas Children’s OCD and Anxiety Disorders Program provides specialized assessment and intervention services to children and adolescents with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive related disorders. We are offering 1 position for our 2024-2025 fellowship class, which will begin on September 3, 2024.

The mission of the Pediatric/Clinical Child Psychology Fellowship program is to advance the profession of psychology and maximize child health outcomes through exemplary postdoctoral training that launches the independent careers of psychologists who are effectively prepared to balance and integrate clinical practice, research, teaching, and other professional activities within their subspecialty field. Training is based in the Psychology Service of Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH), which is the largest children’s hospital in the United States and the primary teaching center for Baylor College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics.  Houston is a vibrant, diverse city that offers rich patient care experiences, along with numerous cultural and recreational activities appealing to a wide range of interests.

The OCD and Anxiety Disorders fellow will develop clinical expertise in: 1) conducting accurate and efficient assessment of OCD, anxiety, and related issues in children and adolescents from ages 3-18; 2) providing evidence-based interventions that are data-driven and research-based; and 3) collaborating with school personnel, psychiatrists, pediatricians, and medical subspecialists. Fellows in the OCD and Anxiety Disorders Program track have opportunity to develop clinical expertise in this domain, mentored by core program faculty. In addition to time in the OC-ADP major training area (60%), fellows select a minor clinical training experience (20%) that may occur within one of our clinical program/track (e.g., primary care, preschool, among others as described in our brochure). Throughout the year, all fellows engage in a research/scholarship rotation (10%), as well as didactics/professional development (10%).

The qualified post-doctoral candidate will have completed course work and internship at an APA-or CPA-accredited program and will have training and experience treating individuals with anxiety and OCD-related disorders using CBT and exposure-based methods. Additional information about our training experiences and eligibility requirements may be accessed through our web-based program brochure: https://www.bcm.edu/departments/pediatrics/sections-divisions-centers/psychology/education.

Applications for this postdoctoral position are currently being accepted, and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.  Interviews will also be offered in an ongoing manner.  Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest and vita to paduran@texaschildrens.org and bawomble@texaschildrens.org.  Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.

We welcome your application!
