Clinical Psychology Post-Doctoral Residency at Knowlton, O'Neill, and Associates, PC

Job description: Knowlton, O'Neill, & Associates, PC, is seeking applicants for a full-time psychology resident, providing comprehensive psychological evaluation and treatments to children, adolescents, and/or adults. This position requires completion of degree from APA accredited doctoral training program (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D program) APA accredited internship, and specialized training in cognitive behavioral focused clinical interventions. Must be license eligible in ND. Preference given to applicants interested in longer term employment at Knowlton, O'Neill, and Associates. Negotiable start date, but position requires at least 3 weeks for credentialing process prior to patient care. Psychology residents will have full access to all support staff, clinic office space, clinical tests, and benefits of regular full-time associate clinicians.

Psychology residents will receive 2 hours per week of clinical supervision by Ph.D. level psychologists (all clinical supervisors meeting certification criteria for ND licensure). One hour weekly will include face-to-face supervision/clinical review of cases, with one additional hour to include supervision regarding general practice, ethics, records review, or psychoeducation. Psychology residents will have access to a clinical supervisor on the physical premise for all clinical work, with all documentation will be reviewed and co-signed by a clinical supervisor. Residents are expected to abide by all ND Laws and the APA ethical guidelines.

Hours: 40 per week (8 am to 5 pm Mon-Friday).

All clinical hours for this position are to be completed at the Knowlton, O'Neill, and Associates, PC clinic office in West Fargo, ND. Providers will be scheduled for up to one new intake per day, and at full capacity during a full week will carry a clinical load of 28-34 active scheduled cases (may include no-shows, or cancellations). Psychology residents will be allowed at least four hours per week for preparation for EPPP and state licensure. Psychology residents will be expected to participate in two clinic meetings per month (1st and 2nd Wednesdays at noon) for general clinical case consultation, and general administrative staff meetings. Expectations for paperwork: Providers are expected to have intake fully written within 72 hours of intake, and to have clinical progress notes completed within 48 hours of each session.

Salary and benefits:

  • $66,000-$72,000/year
  • $5500.00 per month with insurance single coverage health insurance (including dental and vision) Additional family member health, vision, and dental insurance available at cost or $6000.00 per month without health insurance (applicants are required to provide proof of third party coverage)

  • Knowlton, O'Neill, & Associates, PC, will cover costs of participation in spring/fall NDPA, and will support participation in other non-commercial continuing education options (such as UND Medical School Grand Rounds, NDSU Colloquium series, etc.)
  • Knowlton, O'Neill, & Associates, PC, will cover costs associated with licensure exam fees, and will support costs for up to two attempts. KOA will cover the initial costs of licensure in ND.
  • Knowlton, O'Neill, & Associates, PC, will provide all reasonable software and resources for intake and therapy. Available testing resources include Millon tests, MMPI, WAIS, WISD, and CPT testing for ADHD.
  • Potential incentive bonus (based upon productivity at the time of licensure)

NOT covered:

  • Additional licensure outside of North Dakota
  • Specialized testing (updated intellectual assessments, neuropsychological tests, etc). Family health, vision, and dental
  • Advanced certification and training

After the completion of residency, and based upon satisfactory completion of clinical tasks, resident may choose to move to associate status, at which time a formal employment contract using monthly salary and quarterly bonuses will be completed. Typical compensation for full time psychology associates after one year of employment at Knowlton, O'Neill and Associates, PC ranges from $125,000 to $180,000/year dependent upon schedule and productivity.
