Child/Pediatric Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for 2024-2025

The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences (DDBS) in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center is delighted to offer a postdoctoral fellowship for the 2024-2025 cycle. Applicants will be accepted from the fields of Pediatric Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or other research focused programs. This position is 100% research and candidates should be seeking an NIH career as a principal investigator.

 

All applicants will select a senior faculty mentor who has current federal funding and will have the support of a 4-member scholarship oversight committee to ensure productivity and training related to the candidate’s individualized career goals. We are specifically seeking candidates who plan to pursue NIH funding, as evidenced by submitting an F or K application during their fellowship. Current areas of research focus on our team include obesity, feeding, mHealth, intervention development, pain, implementation science, school-based intervention, primary care intervention, and early childhood development.

 

Requirements: Candidates should have completed all requirements for their doctoral degree prior to start date (summer/fall 2024; negotiable). Candidates should be seeking an NIH career as a principal investigator.

 

Support: Salary will follow current NIH guidance. This fellow will work closely with our other fellows through the Department of Pediatrics and the Center for Children’s Healthy Lifestyles & Nutrition which cross a number of disciplines, as well as other fellows across our medical center campus. Postdoctoral fellows will have the support of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at KUMC, as well as support from the NIH funded University of Kansas Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and from the postdoctoral training program at the Center for Children’s Healthy Lifestyles & Nutrition.

Applications will be reviewed immediately upon receipt. Candidates will be accepted initially for one year of employment, and successful 1st year fellows may be invited to stay for a 2nd year.
