Akron Children’s Hospital is pleased to announce that we will be recruiting an additional postdoctoral fellow for the 2024-25 training year who will be working specifically with our Eating Disorders Program. This is a one-year position that will coincide with the training year of our 2 pediatric health psychology fellows. Akron Children’s Hospital’s is an APPIC member institution and has been providing individualized training in pediatric and child clinical psychology for the past 15 years. We currently have 24 psychologists on faculty who offer supervision and training across 17 different medical subspecialties and interdisciplinary programs.    

 

The fellow in the Eating Disorders Program will work with our 3 psychologists who provide outpatient assessment and therapy as well as inpatient consultation services on the multidisciplinary eating disorders team. Along with the pediatric health psychology fellows, they will participate in a variety of didactic activities including our Pediatric Psychology Didactics Series, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Seminar and Professional Development Seminar. Additionally, fellows are required to complete a small research project under the mentorship of our faculty. Research programs are ongoing and are embedded within many of the patient populations served by Psychology in the hospital.

Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, a current curriculum vita (CV), an official transcript from their psychology graduate program, and three letters of reference. Please specify in your letter the specific position in which you are interested (i.e., Eating Disorder, Pediatric Health Psychology, or both).
