NEMOURS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL, FLORIDA IN ORLANDO

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2 POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP POSITIONS

The Division of Behavioral Health at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida (NCH-FL) in Orlando is pleased to offer a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child/adolescent psychology and a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology, both beginning in September 2024. There may be an opportunity for a second year for both positions.

The clinical child/adolescent psychology fellowship offers advanced outpatient training including conceptualization in empirically supported interventions for youth ages 2-18 with a minor rotation in a medical specialty outpatient clinic to allow for a well-rounded experience. The pediatric psychology fellowship offers training in outpatient therapy to patients referred by medical subspecialty clinics, consultation services in multidisciplinary outpatient subspecialty clinics (including but not limited to chronic pain, craniofacial, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and oncology/hematology) and inpatient consultation/liaison services to our 135-bed freestanding children’s hospital. Additional details on each position can be found on our APPIC listing (appic.org). Both fellowship positions may also include limited protected research time, based on interest, experience and fit. There are opportunities for umbrella supervision of practicum students from the University of Central Florida (UCF) APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Program and/or Psychiatry and Pediatric Residents. We also offer educational opportunities such as collaborating with our Delaware and Jacksonville sites for postdoctoral seminar series, continuing education presentations, Grand Rounds and multidisciplinary rounds.

Applicants must have completed all degree requirements for their PhD/PsyD and a predoctoral internship from programs accredited by the American Psychological Association by August 2024. If the applicant’s degree is not conferred by this deadline, a letter from the graduate program’s Director of Clinical Training is sufficient. NCH-FL (http://Nemours.org) offers a competitive salary ($62,430 for 2024-2025 training year) and benefits package including dedicated funding for educational costs and over 25 days of paid time off. NCH-FL also offers free parking to all associates and visitors. Postdocs receive access to the onsite gym at discounted rate and a weekly stipend for meals at the NCH-FL cafeteria. The NCH-FL Division of Behavioral Health includes 7 pediatric psychologists, a pediatric neuropsychologist, 2 psychiatrists, 2 Licensed Clinical Therapists, a psychometrician and currently 2 psychology postdoctoral fellows. The Division of Behavioral Health is part of the Department of Pediatrics and works closely with our medical subspecialty clinics including Neurology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Anesthesiology, Inpatient Rehabilitation and others.
