Primary Children’s Hospital Pediatric Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship

Located in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, Primary Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center, and tertiary care children’s hospital serving children and adolescents from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and Montana. Primary Children’s Hospital is owned by Intermountain Healthcare and is the pediatric specialty teaching hospital for the University of Utah School of Medicine. Faculty mentors belong to the Division of Pediatric Behavioral Health in the University of Utah School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, pediatric psychology postdoctoral fellowship position with a stipend of $55,000/year. This is a one-year position that includes the following opportunities:

Clinical skill development activities, depending on area of focus, include subspecialty outpatient MHI, inpatient consultation liaison, psychotherapy and assessment.

Academic skill development activities, depending on area of focus, include program development, research, interprofessional teaching, and trainee supervision.

Education opportunities include weekly and monthly interdisciplinary conferences, group and individual multidisciplinary supervision, teaching and learning rounds, and professional trainings.

The Pediatric Psychology Fellowship at Primary Children’s Hospital is an individualized training opportunity for targeted, mentored skill development in an academic medical center. Under the guidance of a faculty mentors, an individualized development and training plan will be designed to target clinical and professional development goals of the fellow.

Fellows will choose a subspecialty area of focus, based on interest, experience, and mentor availability. Areas of potential focus include:

· Adolescent Medicine

· Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine

      o Behavioral Sleep Medicine

      o Cystic Fibrosis

· Pediatric Cardiology

· Pediatric Colorectal and Gastroenterology

     o Colorectal

     o Motility

     o EoE

· Pediatric Chronic Pain and Functional Disorders

     o Chronic Pain

     o Autonomic Dysfunction

     o Headache

     o SSRDs

     o FND

· Diabetes

· Pediatric Epilepsy/ Neurosurgery

· Pediatric Feeding Disorders

There are also opportunities to participate in various training activities associated with our APA-accredited internship program and participate in various ongoing research projects with faculty members.

Minimum Qualifications:

§ Completion of all PhD or PsyD requirements from an APA- approved clinical or counseling graduate program by the start of the fellowship

§ Completion of an APPIC-approved predoctoral internship program with specialized training and experience in child and adolescent psychology

§ Psychology resident license from the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) by the start of the fellowship
