Postdoctoral Fellowship at the OCD Institute of Texas

Postdoctoral Fellowship at the OCD Institute of Texas

05 Sep 2023

The OCD Institute | Texas (formerly the Houston OCD Program) offers a
full-time, postdoctoral fellowship. The position provides a unique opportunity
for clinical psychology doctoral graduates with an interest in OCD, anxiety
and related disorders to obtain specialized training in evidence-based
treatments at one of the few OCD-specific residential programs in the
country.

OCD Institute | Texas is an 11-bed residential and PHP treatment program for
adults with OCD, anxiety and OC-related disorders. Our program provides
evidence-based treatment delivered in a compassionate residential milieu
environment. Our program offers treatment rooted in the implementation of
evidence-based treatment for anxiety and OCD, specifically exposure and
response prevention (ERP) therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Postdoctoral fellows serve as a Behavioral Therapist in the program.
Behavioral Therapists serve as the lead clinician on residential cases and
collaborate as a member of an active team along with the family therapist,
psychiatrist, residential counselors and other team members.
In addition to residential work, the postdoctoral fellow will also be able to see
outpatients, provide family therapy, lead psychoeducational groups, and
collaborate in developing other intensive programming initiatives.
Postdoctoral fellows also have the opportunity to supervise practicum
students and residential counselors. Candidates must have a doctoral degree
(PhD or PsyD) in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program and
have completed an APA-accredited internship. It is helpful for qualified
individuals to have clinical experience with cognitive behavior therapy and
familiarity with OCD, anxiety, and related disorders. Experience with adults,
adolescents, and parents is preferred.
