Under the supervision and mentorship of the Center Director (Madhukar H. Trivedi, M.D.) and Clinical Psychologist (Lynnel C. Goodman, Ph.D.), the postdoctoral researcher will advance her/ his/their training in research focusing on the evaluation of mental health promotion programs and services for depression, as well as strategies for effective dissemination and implementation of evidence-based treatments and services. Our programs are offered through a variety of partnerships with the community and school systems, as well as through various networks as part of the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium.

 

The postdoctoral researcher may:

  1. participate in the development and delivery of behavioral activation programs and interventions addressing youth and adult depression and associated disorders;
  2. perform research related clinical interviews and assessments;
  3. participate in the delivery of mental health and resilience promotion programs in schools, colleges, and universities;
  4. develop, design and conduct research efforts in line with this research plan;
  5. formulate research methods and suggest improvements for quality and serve as part of a team;
  6. coordinate database management, conduct data analysis, and interpret results;
  7. develop and provide training and consultation on assessment, psychosocial intervention, and safety planning to research coordinators and/or graduate student trainees; 
  8. co-author or author publications and presentations.

 

This position is a full-time, one-year funded position, with the option for a second year. Required Qualifications:

  1. A Ph.D. in clinical psychology, or related field
  2. At least one year of experience with project-related research methodology
  3. Excellent writing and analytic skills as evidenced by application materials, peer-reviewed publications, dissertation, or writing sample
  4. Experience conducting empirically supported treatments and structured clinical interviews
  5. Strong verbal communication skills as evidenced by work and/or education experience and interview process
