Postdoctoral Fellowships at Marshfield Clinic Health System

Marshfield Clinic Health System offers two 1-year, full-time psychology fellowships

Marshfield Clinic Health System has a 31-year history of psychology fellowship training. Marshfield Medical Center (MMC), the flagship medical center for MCHS, is the primary site for our fellowship training. MMC is a tertiary-care medical clinic with over 1,600 providers across 170 medical specialties that adjoins a 300-bed teaching hospital and children's hospital. Located in central Wisconsin, Marshfield is a charming community of 20,000 with excellent schools and easy access to Minneapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago.

Pediatric Psychology Fellowship

Provides training in clinical work with children and adolescents admitted to Marshfield Children's Hospital. The fellowship primarily involves training in the Pediatric Psychology inpatient Consult Liaison Service within the Pediatric Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Birth Center units. Some time will be spent in providing short term outpatient therapy to individuals needing therapeutic follow-ups after discharge from Marshfield Children's Hospital for continued coping and adjustment to illness and/or trauma.

Child/Adolescent Clinical Psychology Fellowship

Provides training on several multidisciplinary teams. In-depth training in psychological testing will occur through the Pediatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health ADHD Clinic and the Child Development Center's Autism Clinic, working with children and families presenting with complex neuro-developmental issues. This position also provides comprehensive training in psychotherapy and assessment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health's Psychological Testing Service and Psychotherapy clinic, working with children, adolescents, and families presenting with complex psychological and behavioral issues. Additional training opportunities are available within the Center of Excellence for Bardet-Biedl Syndrome (BBS) and the Center of Community Health Advancement (CCHA).

For both fellowships, research and education are an additional component of training. The fellow will have an opportunity to participate in the education and teaching of medical residents. Marshfield Clinic Research Institute, the largest private medical research institute in Wisconsin, provides support for the research initiatives of our fellows.

The fellowship offers extensive benefits (health and dental insurance, paid vacation time, continuing education funds, EPPP and licensure resources/supports). All fellowships include individual supervision and weekly seminars. Fellows must complete an APA-accredited graduate program and internship and have their doctorate prior to starting the fellowship. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received.
