Dr. Holman elected to serve on the Council of Urban Boards of Education

Dr. Shavonna Holman, an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Educational Administration (EDAD) was recently elected to serve on the National School Boards Association’s (NSBA) Council of Urban Boards of Education (CUBE).

According to the announcement on NSBA’s website, “CUBE creates opportunities for urban school board leaders to gain the knowledge and skills needed to serve as effective local education policymakers and advocates for historically underserved students. The council supports excellence in urban school board leadership and is committed to providing all students equal opportunity to receive a high-quality education.”

Dr. Nicholas J. Pace, the Chairperson of EDAD, “Dr. Holman’s election to the National School Boards Association’s Council of Urban Boards of Education Steering Committee represents speaks to the vision and expertise she brings to her role as president of the Omaha Public Schools Board of Education and as a scholar of school leadership. We are thrilled that students earning their master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln have the opportunity to learn from her perspective, passion, and vision.”
