There are three deadlines for applications to the Graduate Certificate and Endorsement Programs in Special Education.

January 15 - review for Summer or Fall start
May 1 - review for Summer, Fall or Spring start
October 15 - review for Spring or Summer start

Special Education's Graduate Governance Committee reviews applications at the next deadline date for a Graduate Certificate or Endorsement program once all required application materials are received and the application is submitted. Procedures for applying to the program can be found at the bottom of the Graduate Certificates webpage. Students can expect to be notified of acceptance within 3-4 weeks of the review.

Requirements for admission vary slightly for each program; at a minimum, all require an online application and three letters of recommendation regarding the applicant's ability to successfully complete and benefit from graduate courses. Applicants currently admitted to the UNL Special Education Master's program or who have previously earned a Master's Degree in Special Education are not required to submit letters of recommendation.

Applicants are either accepted or denied admission to the Graduate Certificate or Endorsement program; there is no "provisional admission" status for the Graduate Certificate or Endorsement program.
