Lisa Lenz joined the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders in August 2018 as a lecturer and the speech-language pathology externship coordinator.

Lisa is responsible for the placement and coordination of second-year speech-language pathology master's students in external clinical practicum in both medical and educational settings, as well as supervising and serving as a liaison during external placements. In addition, she teaches graduate coursework related to clinical placement and practice, helps ensure the completion of clinical requirements for graduation from the master's degree program, and directly supervises first- and second-year graduate students in clinical practicum assignments both on- and off-campus.

Prior to joining the faculty at Nebraska, Lisa was at Indiana University pursuing her doctorate in speech and hearing sciences with a minor in inquiry methodology. From 2000-04, she worked as a pediatric speech-language pathologist in Pennsylvania, and was a research assistant at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, from 2001-02. She earned her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Indiana University in 2000 and her bachelor’s degree in English from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1995.
