Aphasia Support Group

Aphasia Awareness Walk

Individuals who are interested in joining the Aphasia Support Group should contact Judy Harvey for more information.

Mission

Our main purpose is to provide community, social opportunity, and conversational support for individuals whose communication is limited by aphasia. We will provide speech and language support, technology, and expertise to facilitate communication across a wide variety of topics including aphasia and health, but more importantly – everyday topics such as current events, family, sports, hobbies, arts and entertainment…etc. Participants will have the opportunity to make connections by sharing their experiences, opinions, and questions with group members.

What is aphasia?

Aphasia is the impaired ability to understand and/or produce speech. This communication impairment can be a life-changing condition that affects not only communication, but also a person's work, recreation, friendships and family roles. This group provides social contact and activity for people living with aphasia.
