Nikki Scott joined the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders in August 2016 as a lecturer and clinical supervisor in the Barkley Speech Language and Hearing Clinic. She teaches the Augmentative and Alternative Communication lab, as well as Clinical Decision Making 1.
Most recently, Nikki had worked at the Children's Respite Care Clinic in Omaha for more than three years, including supervising graduate clinicians at the center for more than one year. While at CRCC, she developed the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Evaluation and Treatment Clinic, and provided diagnostic and therapy services for clients ranging from about 18 months to 21 years of age with a variety of medical and speech-related diagnoses. Nikki began her professional career at ProCare3 in Omaha in May 2012.
A 2012 graduate of Nebraska's speech-language pathology master's program, Nikki earned her bachelor's degree in communication disorders from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2010. She graduated from UNK magna cum laude and was the student commencement speaker at UNK's 2010 spring ceremony.
