Dr. Springer named CYAF Interim Chair

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Paul Springer has agreed to serve as the CYAF interim chair while a national search is completed. Dr. Springer has significant leadership experience given his time as interim associate dean and we are confident that he will maintain stability, as well as help guide growth and achievement during the interim period. As chair, Dr. Springer will provide overall leadership for the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies including the management of and the long-range planning for the unit. He will also be responsible for activities related to fiscal management, administration of personnel and the service and outreach mission of the Department.

The role of associate dean for academic affairs will not be not be filled right away. In addition to the chair duties, Dr. Springer will continue three jobs for the dean’s office: chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, chair and ex-officio of the Graduate Executive Committee and he will continue leading the enhancement program for professors of practice. Other responsibilities of the associate dean position will be handled by others.
