The EDAD Graduate Student Handbook contains important information that all students need to know in order to navigate their academic programs. It includes information about program options, academic requirements, policies and procedures, and student rights and responsibilities. We recommend that you read through this entire handbook after being admitted to your program, and that you bookmark this website so that you can easily access this information as you need it during your time as an EDAD student.
The Handbook is divided into two main parts. Part 1 contains information that is applicable across the department, regardless of which program you are enrolled in. Part 2 contains specific information applicable to each academic program within the department.
It is the responsibility of all graduate students in the Department of Educational Administration (EDAD) to be familiar with the information presented in this handbook and the Graduate Catalog and to know and observe all regulations and procedures relating to the program he/she is pursuing. In no case will a policy, procedure, or regulation be waived or an exception granted because a student pleads ignorance of, or contends that he/she was not informed of the regulation, policy or procedure. A student planning to graduate should be familiar with the dates relating to application for graduation and other pertinent deadlines published by the Office of Graduate Studies.
A student may expect to satisfy the requirements of the handbook and bulletin in force at the time the student is admitted to, and begins course work in, a degree program; or the student may, with the consent of his/her advisor, graduate under a subsequent bulletin or handbook provided the student complies with all requirements of the later bulletin or handbook.
The Department of Educational Administration and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln expressly reserves the right to:
- Add or delete courses from its offerings and to change times or locations;
- Change academic calendars without notice;
- Cancel any course for insufficient registrations;
- Modify, consolidate, or delete any program;
- Revise or change rules, charges, fees, schedules, courses, requirements for degrees, and any other regulation affecting students including, but not limited to, evaluation standards, whenever considered necessary or desirable.

We reserve the right to adapt our department-level policies and procedures to be consistent with University and Graduate Studies policies and procedures or to address pressing departmental issues, at any time.
