Philosophy Statement:

I am dedicated to teaching and mentoring students through education and research and from a circle of cultivating compassion. The melding of my training and diverse experience in psychology, social work, creativity, and educational psychology have given me understanding and focus on processes of learning within a holistic framework. My research interests are in the areas of writing, with emphasis on reflective and expressive writing, including journal writing in mathematics, reflective writing and self-efficacy; reflective writing and motivation. Other interests include motivation and cognition and learning in education.
