"I am interested in the Au.D. program, but my undergraduate degree is not in audiology. What do I need to do?"
A student wishing to pursue graduate study in audiology who has an undergraduate degree in an area other than audiology is classified as a “lateral entry student.”
General Undergraduate Requirements
Students must show transcript credit in each of the following areas:
–Biological Sciences (e.g., biology, human anatomy & physiology, neuroanatomy & neurophysiology, human genetics, veterinary science)
–Physical Sciences (e.g., physics [PHYS 141 or higher], or inorganic/organic chemistry [CHEM 109 or higher, but not CHEM131])
–Social/Behavioral Sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology, public health)
–Mathematics (college algebra or higher)
–Statistics
*Science courses in audiology major curriculum may not be counted toward this requirement.
**In most cases, students graduating from UNL will have fulfilled the basic science requirements during the process of satisfying General University Requirements. Students from undergraduate programs at other institutions must have their transcripts evaluated to determine compliance with this requirement.

–Hearing and Balance I (SLPA 271) - spring
–Aural Rehabilitation (SLPA 472) - fall *suggested, not required
