Judy Harvey, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is a certified speech-language pathologist and an associate professor of practice in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders.

Judy teaches the following courses: Evidence-Based Practice, Motor Aspects of Verbal Communication, Acquired Brain Injury, Clinical Decision Making 1, Adult Cognition and Language, and Accent Modification.

After earning her bachelor's and master's degrees in speech-language pathology from Nebraska, Judy spent 18 years as a speech-language pathologist at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. She also served as the Inpatient Communication Disorders Department Supervisor at Madonna from 2000-10. Judy returned to UNL and completed her doctorate in 2013, and has since served as a lecturer and now in her current role as assistant professor of practice. She contines to work at Madonna part-time as a speech-language pathologist.

Judy has been active in both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Nebraska Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSLHA). She served as the vice president for NSLHA in 2009-10, and is a member of ASHA's Special Interest Division 2 (neurophysiology and neurogenic speech and language disorders) and 15 (gerontology).
