Schoenrock and Moser honored by ACTE

Two CEHS faculty members have been recognized by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) for their excellence in preparing future teachers. Sheree Moser, assistant professor of practice in Child, Youth and Family Studies, is ACTE’s Region V Postsecondary Teacher of the Year. Mona Schoenrock, lecturer in Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education, is ACTE’s Nebraska Teacher Educator of the Year.

Rupiper retirement reception April 19

Faculty, staff, colleagues and friends are invited to help honor and celebrate Michelle Rupiper at her retirement reception, from 3:30-5 p.m., April 19, in Room 121, Human Sciences Building , on East Campus. Rupiper is retiring after 36 years in the early childhood field. A special presentation will begin at 4:15 p.m. and you can join the honoree for a tour of the Ruth Staples Child Development Laboratory at 5 p.m.

The College of Education and Human Sciences was well represented April 9 when the Nebraska Athletics Department recognized its best and brightest student-athletes at the Lied Center. The most coveted awards were collected by two current and one former CEHS students.

International Seed Grant proposals due March 6

Through a generous donor grant, CEHS has funds available to enhance instruction and research through attention to international work and issues. Proposals are being solicited from faculty and staff to support coursework that includes international perspectives, research/creative work that includes an international component, or professional development activities and environmental improvements that will promote our international goals.

Proposals must be emailed to Deb Mullen (dmullen1@unl.edu) in a Word document by March 6, 2017.

CEHS jumps to No. 4 in national online ranking

Online graduate education programs in the College of Education and Human Sciences have been ranked fourth best nationally in an annual ranking by U.S. News & World Report announced Jan. 10. CEHS jumped 10 spots from the 2016 ranking and is the highest Big Ten program ranked in the category of best online graduate education programs.
