The Graduate Faculty in SECD sets policy for the Doctoral Programs in Educational Studies and Human Sciences. A typical Program of Studies in Human Sciences or Educational Studies is 90 hours, minimally, and includes a minimum of 12 hours of dissertation (SLPA/SPED 999), 15 credit hours of research/evaluation, and 12 credit hours of doctoral seminar (SLPA/SPED 992).

Student's applications, award letters and required program documents are stored in locked cabinets in the Departmental Graduate Coordinator's office. Students can access any information in their files other than letters of recommendation submitted at the time of application to the program to which a student waived the right to access. No one other than the student him/herself and appropriate University personnel can access student files.
