Cassie Maestas Student Services Associate

Cassie Maestas joined the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders at the Student Services Association in September 2022. In this role, she organizes and supervises the resource center in the Barkley Speech Language and Hearing Clinic, oversees Canvas courses for students, assists faculty with various tasks, and assists with hosting open houses for department programs.

Prior to arriving at the Barkley Center, Cassie spent three years as a paraeducator serving more than 50 students daily at Randolph Elementary in Lincoln. She also served two years on the before/after school staff at Randolph. After graduating with dual bachelor's degrees in English and communications, and a minor in inclusive education, from Boston College in 2018, Cassie spent a year working as a cast member at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

While at Boston College, Cassie gained experience as an assistant for the Center for Teaching Excellence and English Department, as well as an after school program teacher and development intern for Breakthrough Greater Boston. She was also an active member of the Boston College Splash, serving as an executive board member and teacher, co-president of Education for Students by Students, and co-director of BC Splash.
