Special Education

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln special education program offers a high-quality, evidence-based program leading to a bachelor's, master's, Ed.D. or Ph.D. degree in special education. The program has a primary responsibility for preparing competent, caring teachers for students with special needs for grades K-6 or 7-12.

The program addresses the minimum requirements for a teaching endorsement in special education from the Nebraska Department of Education. Individuals seeking an initial teaching certificate at the graduate level must be admitted into the master's degree program in special education.
