IANR Leadership Team Visits Ruth Staples Child Development Laboratory

As a kick off to Charter Week, IANR Leaderhsip visited the Ruth Staples Child Development Laboratory.  They brought each child In Our Grit, Our Glory Nebraska t-shirts. Also, on behalf of  the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, CASNR,  and the College of Education and Human Sciences , CEHS, each child received a $500 scholarship! 

"We are honored and thankful for this generous gift and very much enjoyed the t-shirt and ice cream party!" said Jenny Leeper Miller, CDL Director.

CYAF hosts national NCFR conference

The Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies (CYAF) at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln sponsored the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) annual conference last week in San Diego, which brings in the top family studies researchers and programs in the nation for a week-long event. CYAF was represented well, and many faculty and graduate students attended and presented research.

CYAF graduate student featured in national magazine

Josh Byrd is a doctoral student in the Child Development/Early Childhood Education program in the Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies (CYAF). He's a familiar face. He originally hails from eastern North Carolina and got his undergraduate degree from the University of Mount Olive and was drawn to Nebraska because of important work by key faculty members, such as Dr. Helen Raikes, Willa Cather Professor, and Dr. Julia Torquati, Interim Department Chair and Professor.
