Brief Biography

Peiwen Wang is a doctoral student in the Department of Teaching, Learning,
and Teacher Education. She works as a graduate research assistant alongside
Dr. Kara Viesca on ICMEE (International Consortium for Multilingual
Excellence in Education), Dr. Catalano and other professors in TLTE. She also
works as a teaching assistant for TLTE. She has taught TEAC 330 Multicultural
Education and TEAC 413M Teaching Multilingual Learners in Content Area
Classrooms.

Peiwen earned her M.A. in TESL from St. Cloud State University in 2014. She
worked as an IELTS teacher in Global Education (Shanghai) for more than one
year and a college instructor for Business English for three years in
Shangrao Normal University.



Research Interests

Issues related to inequity and racism that international students are facing;
teacher education that advances equity; critical discourse studies
