A wedding reception at Champions Run Country Club in Omaha, NE.

Are you a future event professional involved in the Cannes Film Festival, College World Series, concerts, conferences, professional sporting events, corporate travel, incentive planning, or designing world class weddings? If this is you, the HRTM event planning emphasis will help you get where you are destined to be!

From principles and practices to advanced design, this program allows you the opportunity to specialize in the topics of events that are most interesting to you. From the logistics side – budgets, site selection, contracts, vendor management, food and beverage – to the design side, this program will help you learn and apply what you need to know! In fact, the event planning industry has released a set of standards called the Meeting and Business Event Competency Standards (MBECS) and this program will give you the opportunity to learn all of the essentials required in the event management industry! Not every program is aligned with MBECS, so make sure to ask about this if you are exploring your options.

The UNL HRTM program is designed to allow you to apply what you have learned through planning actual events for the community within your structured classwork all the way up to opportunities for customized internships in your particular focus area. In addition to gaining valuable experience, you will be building your resume and expanding your network of industry connections. Connect with us to learn more today!
