Internships are the way to make those dreams come true. You will develop specific learning objectives and goals and work with a UNL faculty member who evaluates your internship and guides you during the experience. Where else can you go to complete three internships totaling 700 hours over the course of your college career?


 

Hospitality Management Internship Series

 

  1. HRTM 172 Field Experience in Hospitality Management
    An approved supervised individual field experience in hospitality management employment (150 hours) with a qualified, practicing professional within the Hospitality Industry (Club Management, Food & Beverage, Lodging, Human Resources, Event Planning, and Tourism).
  2. HRTM 397 Internship in Hospitality Management Supervision
    An approved and supervised entry-level supervisory experience in hospitality management (150 hours) within the Hospitality Industry (Club Management, Food & Beverage, Lodging, Human Resources, Event Planning, and Tourism) supervising the performance or operation of a person or group.
  3. HRTM 476 Internship in Hospitality Management
    This is the final (capstone) internship in the Hospitality Management internship series. The purpose of the final internship is for the student to:
    • develop or apply the necessary skills to function as an entry level manager in the hospitality industry
    • build entry level management professional opportunities for growth and development
    • become familiar with management practices, culture, expectations and workforce in hospitality operations
