Student Academy of Audiology to host fifth annual Huskers for Hearing 5K April 22

The Student Academy of Audiology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host its Fifth Annual Huskers for Hearing 5K Fun Run Saturday, April 22, on East Campus.

Online registration for the 5K is open until April 5 by visiting http://go.unl.edu/huskersforhearing. Cost is $35 for individuals ages 8 and older, and includes an event T-shirt. Children ages 7 and under are free. Participants may also register the day of the fun run with cash or check payments. In addition to the 5K, the event will also include a silent auction.

SECD Alumna Rachel Zahn Selected for Delta Gamma Foundation Graduate Student Fellowship

Spring semester schedule announced for brown bag sessions

The Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders announced seven upcoming brown bag sessions for the spring semester to be held at the Barkley Memorial Center. The brown bags are intended primarily to allow graduate students to present and respond to research topics, while receiving feedback from those in attendance.

International Seed Grant proposals due March 6

Through a generous donor grant, CEHS has funds available to enhance instruction and research through attention to international work and issues. Proposals are being solicited from faculty and staff to support coursework that includes international perspectives, research/creative work that includes an international component, or professional development activities and environmental improvements that will promote our international goals.

Proposals must be emailed to Deb Mullen (dmullen1@unl.edu) in a Word document by March 6, 2017.

CEHS jumps to No. 4 in national online ranking

Online graduate education programs in the College of Education and Human Sciences have been ranked fourth best nationally in an annual ranking by U.S. News & World Report announced Jan. 10. CEHS jumped 10 spots from the 2016 ranking and is the highest Big Ten program ranked in the category of best online graduate education programs.

Academy for Child & Family Well Being hosting book fair Dec. 18 to benefit Nebraska Letterbox Club

The Academy for Child and Family Well Being (ACFW) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be hosting a book fair Sunday, Dec. 18, at the Barnes & Noble store at SouthPointe Pavilions in Lincoln. In addition to offering several free activities, a percentage of sales during the book fair will benefit the Nebraska Letterbox Club, which sends educational packages to children in Nebraska’s foster care system.
