Continuation in the UNL Athletic Training Program (UNL ATP) is determined by the program administration, the NHS Graduate Committee, and the Office of Graduate Studies. Students may be placed on probation, suspended, or dismissed from the UNL ATP or Graduate School if they fail to maintain satisfactory academic progress or receive infraction reports for violations of UNL ATP policies. These deficiencies can impact academic standing, financial aid, and other forms of funding. Students are advised to consult the specific terms of their funding sources.
Graduate students in the UNL ATP must:
- Maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0 while enrolled in the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program.
- Achieve a minimum grade of "B" or higher in all courses applied toward the Master of Science in Athletic Training degree, including:
- All ATHT courses
- NUTR 805 Research Methods
- EDPS 859 Statistical Methods
- Successfully meet all CAATE standards with a minimum score of 3 out of 4 for each standard within all UNL ATP clinical education courses.
- Accurately document clinical education hours, adhering to the Clinical Education Hours Policy (Chapter 3, Section 4).
- Ensure accurate documentation of clinical patient contacts in Typhon.
- Maintain satisfactory professional and ethical conduct throughout their enrollment in the UNL Athletic Training Program.
- Complete an Annual Progress Report in collaboration with their advisor following each semester they are enrolled in a clinical education course.
- Follow the course sequence outlined in the UNL Athletic Training Program Student Handbook and the Graduate Studies Course Catalogue.
- Meet any additional program requirements specified in the UNL Athletic Training Program Student Handbook, the NHS Graduate Student Handbook, and on the UNL Graduate Catalogue: go.unl.edu/kzhv.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in probation, infractions, or termination from the UNL Athletic Training Program.
