In the event of inclement weather, the safety of the athletic training student (ATS) is top priority. If adverse weather conditions have occurred or are anticipated, the ATS must contact their assigned preceptor prior to departure to confirm whether the clinical education site is open.
Attendance at clinical education is expected unless one or more of the following weather-related conditions is present:
- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) has cancelled courses due to inclement weather. (UNL's Inclement Weather policy can be found online at: go.unl.edu/8s4y.)
- The clinical education site has closed due to inclement weather.
- The ATS does not feel safe traveling due to dangerous road or weather conditions.
- Public transit in the city of Lincoln has closed due to inclement weather conditions.
