The safety of athletic training students (ATS) is the top priority during adverse weather conditions. If severe weather is occurring or anticipated, students must contact their assigned preceptor before traveling to confirm whether the clinical education site is open.
Attendance at clinical education is expected unless one or more of the following conditions applies:
- The University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) cancels courses due to inclement weather (UNL’s Inclement Weather Policy).
- The clinical education site has closed.
- The ATS determines that travel is unsafe due to dangerous road or weather conditions.
- Public transit in Lincoln has been suspended due to weather.
