CH 2: Section 21 - Academic Advising

All students enrolled in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletic Training Program (UNL ATP) will be assigned an athletic training faculty advisor by the program director.

Advisors are assigned to students in order of their admission to the program, ensuring an even distribution among athletic training faculty. Students may request a change in advisor by submitting a written request to the program director. The program director, in consultation with the student and athletic training faculty, will determine if the change is possible and which advisor will be assigned, aiming to maintain equal distribution of advisees among the faculty.

The role of an academic advisor in the UNL ATP includes guiding students on coursework and general academic requirements necessary for the successful completion of the program.

Students are required to have an individual advising meeting with their assigned athletic training faculty advisor each semester to complete the academic progress report and ensure adequate progress toward graduation. This meeting is in addition to any clinical advising meetings scheduled by the clinical education coordinator.
