CH 3: Section 17 - Email Policy

Email will serve as the primary means of communication between the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Athletic Training Program (UNL ATP) and students.

The email address students use to access University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) resources (e.g., Canvas) will be the official and sole email account used by the UNL ATP for all communications with students. Students are expected to check their email daily, including during summer and UNL-sponsored breaks/holidays, and to maintain their inboxes to ensure messages are received. Failure to check email or missing messages due to a full inbox is not a valid excuse for missing communications from the UNL ATP.

When communicating via email, students must adhere to proper email etiquette, which includes:

  1. Beginning each email with a professional greeting.
    • First names should not be used unless the recipient has specifically requested their first name to be used.
  2. Avoiding slang, improper grammar, or text messaging shorthand.
  3. Including a signature at the end of the email to clearly identify the sender.
