PREPARATION GUIDELINES

An improperly prepared package can experience shipping delays, delivery failures, damage in transit, or carrier rejection. Please assure your package is carefully prepared according to the following guidelines:

1. Use a sturdy box appropriate for the contents and shipping method.

   • NOTE:  Styrofoam containers should be placed in a corrugated cardboard box before shipment. Packages consisting of an exposed Styrofoam container alone may be refused by FedEx at the time of pick up.

   • When reusing a box:

     • Remove all previous shipping labels, address stickers, barcodes, and markings.

     • Cross out or completely cover any pre-printed information on the box that does not pertain to your current shipment (e.g., old company names, product descriptions, handling instructions).

     • Ensure the exterior is clean and free of any writing or markings that could obscure the shipping address or confuse the shipping process.

2. Securely seal all holes, seams, and/or openings with packing tape.

   • Shipping materials including packing tape, cushioning fillers, cardboard boxes, dry ice labels, and other essentials are available in the Administrative Office.

3. Label all shipments containing dry ice.

   • All shipments containing dry ice require a completed dry ice label affixed to the front of the package. The option to request a dry ice label can be found within this request form under the section marked "Package Details".
