UNL ATP-trained preceptor(s) are located at each clinical location year-round. Sophomores assigned to these clinical education settings will have a single eight (8) week rotation during the fall and/or spring semester. The intent is to introduce the Sophomore level ATS to various clinical sites and patient populations, to gain a better and diverse understanding of how the different healthcare professionals and patient populations interact.

Junior and Senior level ATS are assigned to these clinical sites for an entire academic year. This year-long clinical experience allows the ATS to gain an understanding of how each of these sports and patient populations operate during various times of the year.

Each of the clinical sites listed above will be divided between two UNL ATP-trained preceptors.

Junior and Senior ATS will be assigned to both preceptors for the academic year. Junior and Senior ATS will rotate between each preceptor during the academic year to gain experience from each patient population.

Sophomores who are assigned to this clinical education setting will have a single eight (8) week rotation during the fall or spring semester. The time of year the Sophomore(s) receives the high school clinical assignment will determine which patient population they will gain experience from. This clinical rotation will allow the ATS to gain clinical experience in a high school setting with a minor patient population that will compete both in-season and out of season.
